Jenni Toivonen (b.1993) is a Finnish photographer and visual artist currently based in Helsinki. Her work settles in the space between documentary and fine art photography and she also works with film and text.
Her interest in topics such as migration, identity and environment motivates her work as well as the places that she gravitates towards and her relationship to them. Her work often meditates on the connections between the inner and the outer world in a way that is ontological and reflective. At the moment she is interested in the posthumanist perspective and the connections between the earth and the human body.
She is finishing her MA in Fine Art Photography at Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture and holds a BA in Photojournalism from the University of Tampere (2018). She has also studied photography and audiovisual communication in Buenos Aires (UNQ). Currently she is working on her personal projects and is available for commissions and creative cooperations worldwide.
